He always stumbled over it. And the more he thought about it, the harder it was to understand. Songs can sing themselves but they cant write themselves, he said. But he believes he is detrimental to the positive conception of music. The studies have shown him that some songs are happy and some songs are sad. Some are round and some are fat. Some are circles and some are squares. Some will hide and some will run. Some will swim and some will drown. Some are social some are shy. Some fall some fly. Some laugh some cry.

Theres holes in his brain from years of drug abuse that make his creations rather difficult to create. Instead of the song appearing in front of him, it would hide. Instead of the melody arriving on time, it will subside (be late). He gave abundant effort funneled into the writing of his age old verse. To make matters worse, he could not read or write musical notation. So he transcribes the spectrum of pitch into colors. The musicians told him to stop taking drugs. The drug addicts told him to stop writing music. Because both are killing him. He undermines this advice. He knows that if he learned from his failures, then he never really failed. Its easier today once having already tried it. After all, he uses it. He’s made terrible mistakes of which he apologized for, then later felt sorry for apologizing. Only to hold a grudge on the people who’ve wronged him forever into eternity. Curly headed he was, light-skinned bearded he was, wore suspenders and steel toes he was. Took advantage of Bi-Mart and the feeling he loved so much when they buzzed him in, because he’s allowed to be there. Always a warm welcome, he thought. It was his favorite store. It was where he could buy rounds of shotgun shells, winter coats, tackle and bait for any season. Every season — year round.
Come to think of it, he hadn't started his christmas shopping uuugggh god dammit gotta do that too. The never ending list of stupid shit to do. Theres always something (irrelevant) to do. Some things get pushed aside. Like dirty dishes in the sink. He’ll get around to it.y

Every move is a coordinated. Every sentence carefully constructed — no wait that’s not him, that’s somebody else — openly detached from the news. Civility gone away with him. Gone away to wait. Time is stressful. To deal with stress he turns to drink. To deal with drink and loss of licence he rides the bus. Double dewey, first time after 4 am second time after 5 am. First time going, second time coming. First time after party, second time before work. First time unemployed second time employed. Either way, the drink did it.

It wasn't like he was a bad driver though. He spent some time driving log trucks up and down the west coast from the Puget Sound all up and way down to San Diego. 3 solid years doing that.Worked himself up a strong appetite of liquor and prostitutes. Sometimes a man can get lonely on the road. He tried an old dog out for companionship. But the dog was not happy and jumped out the cab when his owner was too drunk, pulled over and puking alongside the road. It took its one great opportunity to escape, to run free and roam the country side, covered by the darkness of the night. He did not make an attempt to chase. It was too dark to see which direction he ran. He was too sick to know a difference.

Sometime anyway

Lean it or sway

speak it and mean it

the things that you say

old ends and new friends

meet to persuade

good people will find you

sometime anyway

its not a choice its a calling. Its a song, machine, operational mechanical fundamental instrumental animal. Singing and swinging away it is, it is! Just so happens to be jazzy

loneliness is awful lonely

loneliness is awful lonely

loneliness is awful lonely

when you’re all alone.

needle will shake on a richter scale

needle will shake on a richter scale

needle will shake on a richter scale

in the act of shaking.
